Skills

13 skills

Every skill levels up as you use it, granting a small bonus each level. Here's what each one improves, how fast it gains experience, and the starting class that begins with a head-start in it.

How skills work

Your character carries a spread of skills, each tied to the items and tools you use. Put a skill to work — swing the matching weapon, craft with the matching gear — and it gains experience and climbs in level.

Every level adds another step to that skill's bonus, so the effect grows steadily the more you lean on it. The Effect per level column below shows exactly what each level grants.

Levelling skills also earns Favour points, which you spend on passive talents — a tree of permanent buffs and combat upgrades. Raising your skills is therefore worth doing for its own sake, on top of whatever the skill itself improves.
